I can't believe that it's been one year since I've written anything on my blog. Becky and I have been on a crazy roller coaster called "life" and we hardly have time to even talk to each other.
(By the way, she says "Hi" and says she will try to do some kind of blog update soon!)
#1: Let me start with the last thing I wrote about almost a year ago. "No fast food for one full year!"
It was a success!!! I lost a total of 62 lbs.! That's almost a whole Back Street Boy! LOL! 62 lbs, and that was doing nothing extra, as far as working out or exercising. Just no eating any kind of fast food.
It was a good thing that I had lost all that weight because...
#2: Two days before my 42nd birthday, just this past Sept 4th, I suffered a massive heart attack!
I was at a Karaoke bar with some friends and just so happened to be singing a duet with a friend. Elton John's "Don't Go Breakin' My Heart." We were about 30 seconds from the end of the song when all of a sudden, it felt as though someone had taken a red hot knife and stabbed me right in the middle of my chest.
I finished the song, being the professional that I am, and went right to the bathroom. I began to sweat like crazy, got light headed and threw up. Just then, I remembered what my father told me after his heart attack.
"It felt like someone stabbed me with a hot knife, I started to sweat, got dizzy and threw up."
Holy s**t!!!... I"M HAVING A HEART ATTACK!!!
My friend rushed me into my car and drove me home where Becky was waiting. She then took over and got me to the hospital. From Bar to hospital took 20 mins. I was on the operating table within another 25 mins.
I had an angioplasty done. Two stints were implanted inside of me. I had one fully blocked artery and another that was partially blocked. It's been a little over 3 weeks now, and I want you all to know that I'm feeling FANTASTIC!!!
#3: Last, but not least... I got promoted at work! I'm still with the same heating and air conditioning company, just operating more in a management capacity. At least I'm no longer in the field working the crazy 16 to 18 hours a day. Now I'm at set hours from 8am to 4:30pm and I'm still making the same money as when I was working myself to death!
Well, just thought I'd let you all know that we are still alive and kicking and I promise that we'll try to write more on our blogs!
Unit next time... PEACE!!!

Hi Matty!!
Its really good to see you back to blogging and that there is 62 pounds less of you.
The heart attack thing - yikes!! I'm glad you are feeling so good now - my dad was the same way after his operation - he was dragging before the heart attack more and more, but it was slow and gradual and unnoticed - and after the operation - man, I'm 24 years younger than him and I can't keep up with him!
Congrats on the new job!! Sounds like a much needed (and well deserved) promotion. I bet you won't miss the weirdos you stopped in on (all that much).
:) Welcome back - take it easy and get ALL better soonest.
Congratulations on your weight loss and promotion.
How did the girls deal with the whole year without fast food?
Sorry to hear about your heart attack. I hope you don't have another, and that you are feeling better and suffering no ill effects from it.
Welcome back, by the way. :)
Oh. My. Gosh! Matt!! WOW! I'm glad to hear you lost all that weight but sheesh....that is so scary about the heart attack! I'm so glad you are okay and you feel "FANTASTIC!". I'm sure Becky is too :o)
Glad to see you guys have updated recently but still miss your frequent posts. I understand though. I've been slacking off as well.
Hope to see more updates soon! *Hugs* to you all!
